With over 20 years of experience, Shay is an Executive Director in KPMG Law’s Greater Toronto Area (GTA) US Tax Counsel. Shay is regarded as a tax leader and tax attorney specializing in US and international tax, primarily in the technology sector, with diverse practical experience both in-house positions and accounting and law firms. He is also Global Policy Lead for Private Enterprise Tax, KPMG International.
Prior to re-joining KPMG, Shay was the Global Tax Director of a publicly traded (NASDAQ) multinational group, managing the global tax position of the group and leading its global tax team.
Over the years, Shay has published various articles, including three branch reports for Israel for the annual International Fiscal Association (IFA) congress. His most recent publication, “Focus on the Facts”, was recently published in the Florida Tax Review. Currently, Shay teaches the course “Overview of US Taxation and Recent Developments” in the LLM program at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University.
