At the core of our Values, and vital to our Purpose, is KPMG’s commitment to gender equality.

As a signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles, we are working closely with the UN to deliver on our commitments and align to their global IWD 2023 theme, DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality, which highlights the impact of the digital gender gap on widening or contracting economic and social inequalities.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an opportunity to reflect on the responsibility we have to push for gender equality and the importance of women in leadership. Globally, we set an intention to have women in 33 percent of leadership roles by 2025, which includes partners and directors. This represents a third of our leadership across the globe and will help drive our commitment to advancing gender equality, across all KPMG member firms. We are proud that the KPMG Global Management Team (GMT), the senior leaders responsible for developing our global strategy and driving alignment across member firms, is made up of 50 percent women as of October 2022.

Empowering women in technology

Growing inequalities are becoming increasingly evident in digital skills and access to technologies, with women being left behind as the result of the digital gender divide – inclusive and transformative technology and digital education is crucial for a sustainable future.

KPMG is investing up to US$5 billion to accelerate our digital transformation, including providing our people with the skills they need now and for the future. Powered by our alliance with Microsoft, we have made significant investments in the digital workplace, including improving digital accessibility to create a more inclusive, and equitable workplace for all.

KPMG firms around the world are also committed to supporting women both internally and externally through programs and initiatives that provide opportunity for growth and development.
