Paul Ford

Paul Ford is the ASPAC Head of Elevate at KPMG International and a Partner and Head of Transaction Services at KPMG in Japan. Paul has more than 20 years of experience in the deal space in a variety of sectors, including Private Equity, software and technology, telecoms, retail, manufacturing and others. Paul began his career with KPMG in Canada in 1995. He worked in Audit and Transaction Services teams in Canada, and then later, in Hong Kong (SAR), China and Japan before leaving to work in Private Equity. Between 2006 and 2007, Paul was an executive director in a middle market Private Equity fund based in Tokyo, where he focused on investment and operations in the technology and hospitality sectors, including launching a social networking startup. From 2007 to 2011 Paul was the Vice President of Finance for a venture-backed software company in Canada where he was responsible for all areas of finance, HR, legal and sales operations, as well as raising multiple rounds of equity and debt financing. In 2011, Paul rejoined KPMG in Japan on the Deal Advisory team, focused on Transaction Services in the technology and Private Equity sectors. Since becoming a Partner in 2013, Paul has assumed a range of leadership roles in the Japan firm, including Head of Private Equity, Head of Transaction Services, and Head of Data Analytics, as well as leading the Asia Pacific Value Creation Center of Excellence. In addition to various leadership roles, Paul is currently the Japan lead partner for many of their largest global private equity funds.
