Michael Musso

Michael “Mike” Musso is a managing director in the KPMG Deal Advisory & Strategy Practice and a member of the Corporate Finance and US Restructuring Team. He leads the KPMG US Consumer Products and Retail Restructuring practice and is based in Atlanta, GA. Mike is a seasoned financial and operational turnaround professional with over 30 years of C-suite, M&A, and restructuring leadership. His experience base is diverse with a ‘blue chip” corporate foundation with P&G, Pepsi, and Frito-Lay, over a decade of Private Equity C-suite experience, and extensive financial and operational restructuring engagement leadership. He has a national reputation as a Consumer Products adviser with particular depth in consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, packaging manufacturing, and retail grocery. Mike has extensive experience advising sponsors, companies, and senior lenders in complex debt restructurings, carve out strategy and performance improvement execution, and crisis management distressed workouts. He has led numerous §363 sale processes in Chapter 11 cases and has served frequently in C-Level interim management roles including numerous chief restructuring officer engagements. Mike is a frequent author and speaker on restructuring, turnaround management, and the consumer packaged goods industry.
