In line with the Irish government’s response to the pandemic, on 10 September 2021, Ireland‘s Immigration Service Delivery announced the lifting of short-stay visa restrictions effective from Monday, 13 September 20211. This update will affect employees who need to enter Ireland for short-stay trips.
All remaining COVID-19 restrictions on entry visas, which were brought in on an interim basis to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, have now been lifted.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Employers should note that visa-required employees seeking to enter Ireland for business or short-stay trips may submit visa applications from 13 September 2021.
All travellers arriving in Ireland must continue to comply with the relevant immigration requirements, as appropriate, and with the public health measures required by law, including completing a COVID-19 Passenger Locator Form, pre-arrival PCR test, proof of vaccination, and quarantine in a designated facility or at home, as appropriate.
KPMG NOTE
Individuals and organisations should take note of these changes – they mean that employees who require entry visas to Ireland will now be able to proceed with making relevant short-stay visa applications.
